How our Healthcare Waste Disposal Process is Superior

When contracted with us, expect healthcare waste solutions that are flexible, on-time, and affordable. Our trained technicians come on a recurring schedule that works for your healthcare practice. We remove your medical waste in a UN3291 (compliant) container after having the shipping document signed by your healthcare office representative. That document is then emailed to your office for proof of disposal and cradle-to-grave tracking. You always know where your waste is going when partnering with Superior. Your waste is then treated and shredded at our partnered facility prior to safe disposal.

What our clients say

Five Star review is not enough for our experience with Superior Medical Waste. We take full advantage of their OSHA/HIPAA training modules for our staff. The site training is easy to administrate, navigate, and track the progress of your team. Great communication at all levels. Superior has been a game changer for us!
Starla May, Midwest Eye Institute, Indiana
Very professional. Talked to Will and he had our clinic set up the next day. The gentleman that picked up the sharps containers was quick and made sure all questions were answered before he left. Highly recommend.
Sakniah Hachem, Stat Tel Medicine, Michigan
I manage a veterinary clinic and we switched to Superior Medical earlier this year. They have been amazing to work with, accommodating, they communicate well, and everyone I have interacted with has been so friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to a long professional relationship with this company.

Heathcare Waste Removal — common questions

Who is authorized to inspect our facility?+

Several government agencies may inspect how your organization handles medical waste. In Michigan, this may include EGLE, your local health department, and MIOSHA. The Michigan State Police may also review how waste is packaged and prepared for transportation, while federal DOT or PHMSA inspectors may examine shipping documents, employee training, and transportation procedures. Because multiple agencies regulate different parts of the process, your facility should be prepared to show that its medical waste is properly stored, packaged, documented, and shipped.

What training is required for employees who handle medical waste?+

Employees who handle, package, store, transport, or otherwise manage medical waste should receive training on the procedures outlined in the facility’s Medical Waste Management Plan, and Michigan EGLE requires medical waste-producing facilities to keep records showing that applicable employees have been trained. Bloodborne pathogens training is a separate OSHA requirement: employees with reasonably anticipated exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials must be trained when first assigned to those duties and at least annually afterward. Additional training may also be required when job duties or procedures change. Training records should be kept organized and available for inspection.
